Another Weekend in the Country

First, I would like to thank the many people who left so many kind messages to me in rememberance of my sweet Alex.  It meant very much to me and I appreciate each and every one of them so much.  It's hard to believe it's been five years since he left for the Rainbow Bridge.  Thank you so much for your very kind words!

Last weekend a very good friend and I went back to the country to visit the horses, donkeys, dogs, cats, and a few other creatures we had not planned on seeing.  Rattlesnakes!  We did not get any pictures of them....we were too busy backing away very quickly and trying to be quiet.  We did actually retreat without any of them being disturbed and we went our merry way thank goodness.  We had taken apples for the horses and donkeys and met a barn kitty that was so friendly.  Houdini was outside as usual making his rounds and sniffing everyone, including under my Jeep for some reason.   We walked for hours, took pictures and picked blackberries.  The weather was nice and not too hot unlike it is now and we had lots of fun.  A day in the country is always a day of relaxation and happiness!

Some pictures from the day!

Mike and Tar

Escape Artist...Houdini laughing at everyone.  He has a great personality and is very happy!

A very beautiful and friendly barn kitty.

I love these guys!

Yummy...apples!

They stay very close to each other.

Something we had never seen before...a tree full of cups and mugs.  Creative!

Another view.

We didn't know their names but they were very beautiful and friendly.

Blackberries!!!

Have a Great Weekend!!!

I love Houdini's FACE! One of these days, I will get a dog whose face is half white, half some other color. I adore that look.

I also loved the cup tree. How quirky and whimsical.

SOunds like a great, relaxing day out (minus the snake!).

Rattlesnakes!!! I don't think I'd be brave enough to stay there and take their pictures! So scary!!!

The country looks so pretty and you've taken beautiful pictures of those horses, donkeys and others.

The berries look so delicious!!

So glad that you all had a good day out there in the country and the weather was good too.

Oh, the tree with cups and mugs is amazing!

Very wise decision to avoid those rattlers - scary slitherers.

There are three donkeys here that we like to visit too. Two of them are very close but the third acts like the Fun Police and yells at them and chases them apart. Funny to watch.

Hope you have a cooler and nice weekend.

Holly and Debbie thank you for sharing your day in the beautiful VA country side. Every single picture is purrfect and the animals are so pretty.

We've had a lot of copperheads in our neighborhood. Mom is very cautious when she goes out to fill up the bird bath.
Hugs and stay cool

It felt like I was right there, with you, in the countryside - exactly what I needed while I sit her in bed trying to beat the flu. Thank you. I love you cheery blog! :)

RATTLESNAKES? OH MY! That must have been super scary.

What cute photos.

What is the purpose of the mug tree? Does just anyone put them on there? How neat. :)

Just read your story about Alex and Bingo... So very touching... And so incredibly sweet that Bingo never left Alex' side. I'm sad to hear that they are no longer with you; they seemed to be really wonderful animals... xoxo
