Monday Memories

Mom had a busy Saturday.  She left me alone once again and went to meet some friends from Charlotte, NC.  She and Auntie Gwen went out to meet them and stayed all day long!  That's two days in a row.  I am a patient dog though.  (Usually).  Sunday she spend the day at home with me and the kitties and we certainly appreciated it.  Actually we think she was worn out..after all she is rather old.  She went through some pictures yet again.  It's  amazing how many pictures she has now.  Her mother must have started taking pictures when she was one day old and then got mom a camera of her own when she was about 6 years old.

This is how it all started with mom and her love for animals....bear with us please because these are very old pictures and some were in bad shape!

One of many kitties..this one was named Baby Doll!!

Mom and a big beautiful yellow kitty named Boo Boo! (Mom said she doesn't know who came up with some of the names!)  Check out mom's dress.   Funny!

Another really oldie....mom and her friend from next door.  Her friend was going to take her suitcase and mom was going to take a kitty with her.  Not surprising.

Some years later, mom with yet another kitty.

Many years later, Ives, Gray Kitty and Spottie came along to live with mom and her husband.

Then there was Phoenix for over 15 years who was the only cat of the house because she did not like other cats!  She loved dogs though at which time.....mom brought in dogs!!

Hobo was rescued at the age of 8 and lived to be a little over 16 years old.

That led mom to adopt a puppy who was named Alex.  She thought Hobo would love a friend.

Mom's dream come true....her own  horse.  She still thinks that horseback riding through the mountains is wonderful.  Of course she can't do that anymore because she is too old and sick  busy with me.

Of course Lilly had to be rescued.  She was found by a nice woman who found her at a church as a little kitten....all alone.  Mom had just lost Phoenix and was at the vet's office when the woman came in to get Lilly (previously named Kitty Kat).  The woman had rescued her and had her spayed and got her shots.  Mom left the vet's office with her.

We won't forget Angel who still refuses to look at the camera.  She was a lost kitty that mom found on the street.

A girl came to mom's door when she moved here and asked if she would take a kitten.  Mom moaned and said she would think about it.  The next morning mom goes racing across the street, gets the kitten and off to the vet she goes.  Welcome Bingo.

Then Zoe needed a home....which let to........

Sam!!!

And then.....as we close finally......there is always.......

Holly

(There are many other wonderful pets not mentioned in this post!)

Have a Great Day!!!
Lots of Love to All!!!!

Your mom sure loves animals Holly. She must be a really wonderful person to give so many animals a home. I think I'll declare her my "person of the week."

Look at all the kitties in your Mom's past. We loved seeing the old pics. Our mom has lots of those old ones too, we need to get her to post a few too.

Rainy day here, hope it stops later so we can get a walk.

It's always so hard to look through a box of memories. Mom tries but always ends up teary-eyed. Then I have to take care of her just like you take care of your Mom. We're just such GOOD kids!!!

Love,
Rusty
