Wednesday's Journey

This morning it was cloudy so mom decided to watch a movie.  Me, being a bit bored, decided to eat the corner of a book that was in one of her baskets.  I haven't done anything like that in almost two years.  Mom grabbed the book, turned off the television and said "that's it"!!  We are going for a little drive, cloudy or not!

Mom doesn't  know how to go on a little drive.  Every drive she takes me on ends up being about 100 miles or more.  Fine with me but she's going to need a new Jeep at this rate and I'm not going to pay for it!

She listened to my suggestion and as usual, we went on the Blue Ridge Parkway.  This time I directed her to take a left....and don't make any turns unless I was to tell her.  That way she wouldn't get us lost like she seems to do.

We ended up going north on Parkway.  Although it was cloudy, it was nice out and fun to get away from the house.

We found some new rocks! 

I had to jump on this one.  I wasn't able to climb on it.

These rocks are okay but nothing like HollyRustyRocks!

We ended up at the Peaks of Otter.  It's really pretty in the fall according to mom.

Look close...these funny looking dogs were everywhere!

Mom caught this one trying to run away!  Some of them had spots.  I thought they were Dalmations.  Mom laughed at me again.

We came across this house.  I suggested we move in it because of the scenery.  Mom said no.

Mom showed me the sign next to it which explains why we can't live there.

This is a very nice lodge. The lodge is big.  Mom cut the picture off by accident!  I wanted to stay but mom said no to that also.  She says no to me too much!

 

We headed back home because it was getting really dark and cloudy.

Good thing we turned around...a very big storm hit and it got really dark!

We made it home in the rain and we were very tired.  It was a great day though and worth the trip!!
