I think I have figured Mom out now. She seems to use rain as an excuse not to take me on a trip. Today was beautiful and here we were at home. I didn't even have the energy to try and look pitiful to nudge her into going anywhere. I saw that look on her face this morning and I just knew it would be best if I just kept my mouth shut. I didn't whine. I didn't bark. I didn't even try and look sad. I decided that a day at home doing absolutely nothing would just be great. Sure. Might as well. She did some strange things as usual while I was resting. Here I am trying to sleep and get my mind off of going anywhere fun.
I was about to drift off into a deep state of sleep when something happened.
What!!! Who put all of these toys on me!!! What's going on? MOM?
Oh no...now my ball is going crazy...I might as well get back up!
Good enough...we will just sit outside on the porch! Fresh air!!!
Checking out my yard to make sure no squirrels have invaded it. All seems fine.
I need sunglasses! It is rather hot out here!!
Back inside and hopefully I will get my nap!!! I have my paws crosssed that she will let me sleep!!

Maybe what you should do is invite your momma to cuddle with you while you nap - that's the best!

A nice long nap is just the best thing in the world on a hot day. I was going to go for a swim last night but Mom wouldn't let me because my leg is still a little bit sore. So you have the right idea.....a nap! I think I'll do that today too! I'll be napping and dreaming about you and HollyRustyRock.

Days at home with absolutely nothing to do are great! I wish we could have more of those types of days in NH. Holly you don't like squirrels when they come to visit? The squirrels here in NH sure like to tease dogs, they chatter at us and sit on the back of the 8 foot fence knowing that us dogs can't reach them up there.

Isn't that always the case, as soon as you accept fate and try to take a nap, the humans then bury you in toys.
