Our Day in The Country!

We actually went on a little trip Sunday morning!!  I had almost finished packing my toys and food with Lilly and Angel's help.  We were trying to figure out the alarm system so I could leave the house when Mom came down the steps and caught us!  Lilly and Angel ran off and left me standing there looking silly and she wanted to know just what I was planning on doing.  I let her know that I did not like her attitude these days and something had to give.  She sat down, got back up and told me that I was right!  She said she didn't want to mope around here all day again and look at the horrible shed that wasn't fixed so we would just leave!  We did!  She packed our bags and this time she took me far away back in the country where she used to ride her horse and lived many years ago.  We had a blast!  She wasn't able to ride any of the horses there but she got to pet them and that made her very happy.

I think she took about 200 pictures and she is going to post some at a time.  We were gone all day long and she said the old Jeep may have used all of the gas in it but at least we both had lots of fun and it changed her attitude (for now) and wore me out.  I can't run away right now because I'm just really tired!!   Now to get her to do this at least once a month.  I know she doesn't have much money to run the roads or that's what Lilly and Angel told me so I decided that if she would just take me on a little trip once a month while it's summer, that would be lovely!  We might not be able to take a long vacation but these day trips are really fun and kind of like mini vacations!  One day away to have fun seems to really help so much.

Here's some pictures of our wonderful day in the country!  Mom said we are going back next month to pick all of the blackberries she can find and they have lots of them!

I'm Happy, So Happy!

This is a little bench that is next to a small stream.

I was trying to show off in front of some other dogs there.  They barked at me!

This horse is named Tar...he is a Tennessee Walker.  He's about 30 years old now.

Donkeys!!!  Aren't they cute!!

Grazing in the Grass.

They made some really loud and funny noises and I was very impressed!

Closeup of Tar!

I actually got in the water and drank it!  I've never done that before.

This guy met us when we pulled in the first driveway.  They call him Houdini because he keeps escaping his pen.  I don't blame him.  He was very friendly!  Mom wanted to bring him home but they said no!  They have lots of dogs there and they were all so handsome and pretty.  Mom's last dog Alex who is now at the Rainbow Bridge was born over there.  She says she has lots of wonderful memories from that county and wishes she still lived there.  I do too!

Friends Forever.

It was rather cloudy but a nice breeze there.  I wanted to stay!

I finally got to kiss a horse!!  It was great!!

Some of the other horses but they were too far away to pet.  Maybe next time!

We were getting ready to leave when it was getting really cloudy. It's raining now which is good.  That should keep mom off of the ladders....not to mention the fact that she cannot even lift them!!!

Now Holly, you've just got to remind her to take these day outs....even if you don't go far. Just getting away from the house for awhile and out in nature is very restorative AND fun!

Holly what a wonderful day you had. It is true all you need to do to have fun is to find a very special friend to spend the day walking and talking too. I can see that you were very happy and we know that made Mom happy.
The horses and donkeys are so pretty...Mom told me the horses have very velvety noses. We look forward to more pictures,

It looks like a great day trip. I think you should postpone running away for now. Too many adventures that you could have with mom in the country. I've never even met a horse or a donkey.
