Back in Time

A very long time ago, mom was mostly a cat person.  She had dogs growing up but once she became an adult, she started getting cats.  During this period, she always had cats.  In the late 80's, she used to go for long walks after work and she went by a house that had this cute and fun dog.  She became attached to the dog and started taking him treats and bones after asking the owner if it was okay.  He said no problem....fine with him.  The dog was always outside which bothered mom.  Cold and hot weather, he was always outside. 

Mom moved to another apartment and started to drive everyday to visit this dog.  She moved again further away but still continued to drive to see him.  One day she went to visit and some strange woman ran out the door screaming "Do you want this ........ dog!!!"  Mom asked where the owners were...the woman replied they had sold the house to her, left the dog and she "couldn't handle him.  She was screaming that she was taking him to the pound!  Mom said "oh no you are not"....went in the gate, grabbed the dog and put him in her car and took him to her apartment.  She told the landlord that she now how a cat and a dog and that was the way it would have to be or she would move.  He gave in and said okay.   This dogs name was Hobo.  He was eight years old and lived to be a bit over 16 years old.  He went blind and then deaf but he was always happy.  He used his nose to get everywhere.   Because of him, mom got another dog, Alex, in 1993 and then after both of them joined together at the Rainbow Bridge.....she adopted me.  I am a mix and actually mom said she didn't want a puppy but after seeing us, she fell in love with me and brought me home.

Thanks Hobo so much.  Thanks Hobo and Alex for letting mom know the pure love of dogs.  She is now a cat and dog (and horse) lover!
