On 9/11/2002, Auntie Gwen and mom went to Hillsville, VA. to get little Darcie. That was a happy day for both of them.
On 9/11/2003, mom's husband, Wayne, passed away from melanoma after a brave fight with it for two years. She misses him very much. He loved Boxers and had one named Sam and also a big black dog named Zoe.
That day is just etched in mom's mind forever.

When I was a kid, my parents talked about Pearl Harbor Day, just as we speak of Nine-Eleven.
We have to remember these things, and especially our forces that look out for us.
