Friday Fun

There comes a time when a good pup has to tell the bad things she or he has done in her life. Now is as good time as ever I suppose. I have to admit it. I was arrested. Yes. Me. A little pup of only 11 weeks old. Arrested!!! How can that be you may wonder. It all started one night when my Mom was playing ball with me...she was throwing the little soft red ball that belonged to Alex to me across the room. I still had those little razor sharp puppy teeth. I brought the ball back to Mom. I went to get it and got a tooth in the side of her hand and she pulled at it screaming!! Blood came pouring out where I had made a deep place. She tried and tried to stop the bleeding for an hour and it just wouldn't stop bleeding. Me, being a puppy, passed out from the panic and sight of blood.

She called her doctor who told her she might want to go to the ER. She did. Bad idea. The first thing the nurse said was "We HAVE to call Animal Control!!!!!" My mom was pleading with her not to, saying she's just a puppy, she's my puppy, please! No...the nurse called them.

Next thing I heard was the police and animal control was in the hospital hunting for mom. They basically wrote a book about me, said they would be out the next day to quarantee me for 10 days against my mom!!! And they did. I was in lock up. A prisoner at only 11 weeks old. I was so ashamed. I had a rap sheet at an early age. All for getting my little red ball back. Gee. Puppies out there...take warning....be careful with those little teeth or you to might be locked up like I was...or maybe it's only because of where I live. Whatever. It upset Mom more than it did me.

Here I am in lockup in my house...against my mom. Can anyone explain that? Can my mom sue herself over a puppy bite that wasn't really a bite at all? Should the little red ball be put into evidence? Crimes that should never be written up in the books!

That was just crazy - what were they thinking? Puppies can't help those razor sharp teeth. At least you got to be under house arrest - bet the mom treated you well:)

The OP Pack sent us over -to welcome you to the Blogs.

Not sure Mom wants us to associate with Criminal offenders though - at such a young age as well. What was house arrest like? Was the food ok? You look pretty cute - can't imagine you have a record already!

Welcome to the world of blogging. The OP Pack introduced us to you. We hope to get to know you better so please stop by and visit us too - we have a few puppies left!

We think that the hospital/police were totally out of line on throwing the book at you - what were they thinking - obviously that nurse had never owned a sweet puppy before.

Have a great day and we'll see you around the blog.

XOXO

Hi Holly
Ciara, Phantom & Thunder sent us over to welcome you to the blogosphere.

Pees - our kitty Calli, bit a vet tech once and the vet tech went to the hospital. Animal control phoned mom and said we had to quarantene Calli for 12 days. She was just under house arrest. (no change for her as she is an indoor cat). They came and looked at her after the 12 days and that was it.

Thanks for the comments!! I'm from Roanoke, Va. Not far from Hillsville at all! Actually my friend got her newest dog in Hillsville some years ago. It really did happen...she was under house arrest for 10 days against me (which I still don't understand). At least they didn't take her to the pound! She was too young for her Rabids shots. It's nice to know another person that had the same treatment by the animal police!! They made mom sign a long piece of official paper saying she wouldn't let anyone in the house unless she called animal control and got permission! Since I had the crate already, my friend came up with the idea to decorate it with mug posters hanging off of it! She's been a good girl since then and stayed out of trouble (she lost those baby teeth)!

Hi Holly, welcome to the dog blogging world, we are most happy to have you.

This happened to my Mom with her little Scottie many years ago. Little Otis was only 8 weeks old and they were playing ball. He ran up to get the ball and sunk his fang into my Mom's hand. Then pulled real hard to get it out. She had to go to ER too, but they didn't have the kind of rules you do where you live. She didn't press charges against him so all was OK. BOL!

Funny world, isn't it?

Kisses,
Stella

Been there, done that, but we were breaking up a scuffle between two of The Herd (I know, I know - shocking that they ever scuffle, right). Fortunately, AC knew us because we have two "paroles" from there. So we were quarantined, but they never even came out.

There should be an immediate pardon when a puppy bites it's own owner. We think the nurse was out of line by reporting you, and the cops and animal control should have lauged it off; puppies dont need a record so young.

Bad Nurse !!!!!!! Bad Animal Control !!!!! Bad Cops !!!!!!

Hi Holly, The OP Pack sent us over. How awful they stuck you in lock up. The Mom will never allow any of the beans near an ER if we do something like that, so thanks for the info, we can't imagine how upset your Mom was. ~Artemisia, Socks, & Scylla (CAT) and our doggie Fenris

Kiddo, sometimes animal control and the police do what humans call 'job justification' when things are going slow and they need something to do. We think that this was one of those times. Where I live, I don't think you would have ended up in lock up - not a snaggle-toothed puppy - not a chance.

You reminded me that one day I should blog about the time I hired an attorney to defend my dog in court against a claim he peed on my neighbor's bush!

Sorry to hear about the lock-down. How totally unfair! Power to the puppies!

That's so stupid!! Human kids bite other human kids, they're not locked up in cages! And now it's on your permanent record! Like you'd hurt your mom on purpose! Grrr!!
